Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

Eat

• Eat organic

• Shop at the Farmer’s Market, local Co-op and organic grocery stores

• Eat raw or use your stove to cook – ban the microwave, it produces strong EMFs
(Electromagnetic Fields) and reduces the nutritional value and enzymes in your food

• Frequent whole food restaurants that use fresh organic produce and all-natural ingredients
such as free-range meat and wild fish

• Compost to honor the earth

Sleep

• Choose a natural wood bed frame

• Select 100% cotton sheets or all-natural fibers for bedding (hemp works too!)

Tips for Personal Life Mastery

1. Be Present: Be fully aware and in the moment — whether you are washing the dishes,
typing a memo or sharing time with your family. Mindfulness and presence are key to
feeling connected and alive.

2. Get Quiet: Meditate, take a walk in nature or just sit in your car with the radio and phone
off for a few minutes. Breathe, and listen to any messages or clues that come forward.
There’s another level of wisdom you possess that’s just beyond your busy mind.

3. Take a Risk: Stretch — out of your comfort zone. Growth is a result of reaching beyond
what we know and what is familiar. Dare to dream and know that a “risk” is just an
opportunity for something new to come into your life. (more…)

Feng Shui Tips for Manifesting & Enhancing a Love Relationship

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

Feng Shui, meaning “Wind & Water,” is the ancient system of environmental placement.
Practiced for more than 3000 years in China, the Western World is now embracing it as a way
to create balance and harmony in our homes, offices, and in our lives. Feng Shui can be a
powerful tool to help us manifest what we want in all different areas of our lives, including
intimate relationships.

In Feng Shui, a nine-box grid called the BaGua is used to map out areas of the home that
correspond to specific areas of life. In Black Sect Feng Shui, the Love & Marriage area is in the
far-right hand corner of your home based on the front door. In Compass Feng Shui, the Love & Marriage area is located in the Southwest part of your home. Both systems are effective in
activating energy and anchoring intention around partnership.

Enhancements for the Love & Marriage Area

• Pictures, paintings, collages, photos and figures of a significant other, or someone who
looks like the one you wish to attract

• Pairs of things such as lovers, doves, dolphins, hearts – all symbols of love, or symbols
that meaningfully exemplify the relationship you desire

• Quotes, affirmations and/or sayings pertaining to love/marriage or relationships.

• Things that have a personal association with love & marriage
Enhancements for the Bedroom

Whether or not your Love & Marriage area is in your bedroom, this room is important in
attracting a partner. A warm, inviting bedroom offers an atmosphere of serenity, sensuality and
privacy. (more…)

In This Moment: A Thanksgiving Inspiration

Monday, December 1st, 2008

Back in my days working as a public relations executive, we had a saying: “Media begets media.” What it meant was that one media hit would often garner more media attention. This week, as I watched the news and experienced friends, colleagues and family worrying about the economic environment, I wondered, “Does fear beget fear?”

The answer is a resounding “yes.” I knew it because the more I watched the news and listened to others voice their concerns about our economy, the more I began to buy into the fear as well. After all, my independent business has slowed down a bit compared to previous months (albeit I do typically have a seasonal slowdown around this time), and I noticed that many people around me are cutting back and preparing for the worst. Processing all of this, I began to experience fear.

Collective consciousness is a powerful thing. And, even with all of my psychological and spiritual training – and an unwavering belief that everything is merely realigning—I bought into it. The good news is, I can choose something different, and so can you.

One of my favorite inspirational speakers, Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith, defines fear as “False Evidence Appearing Real.” While the evidence of an economic downturn is real, the fear we are experiencing is entirely created by us. We are projecting negative into the future. The situation is the situation, but what we tell ourselves about the situation (e.g. I’m not going to be able to pay my bills, I am going to get evicted, I will become homeless, I will die) is entirely up to us. Could the Bedroom Be the Source of Your Child’s Sleeping Problems?

Monday, December 1st, 2008

You’ve read every book on the subject… ruled out any medical issues… tried routines, lullabies, rocking… and nothing works. Could your child’s bedroom be to blame for his/her sleeping problems?

According to Los-Angeles based Feng Shui expert, Marie Elena Rigo, the answer is a resounding, “yes.” Having worked with many frustrated parents – and cranky children, she’s seen first-hand that the interior of a child’s bedroom has a significant impact on whether the baby sleeps or not.

What’s the trick? Rigo says, “It’s important to create a feeling of safety and security when we sleep – especially for a child.”

“While many things activate our nervous system such as impending danger, loud noise, bright colors, and sharp edges, there are specific physiological responses that we can directly address through the principles of Feng Shui,” she added. “With a focus on reducing fight or flight response and minimizing over-stimulation from patterns and objects, we can calm the environment so the child’s nervous system can relax – and so can the child.”

Discovered by Harvard physiologist Walter Cannon, fight or flight response is our body’s physiological reaction to stress – internal or external. In our environment, the “fight or flight response” can be activated by sitting with our backs to a door, walking by a coffee table with a sharp edge, maneuvering around wires on the floor, or brushing up against a rose bush laden with thorns on a walkway.
