Q:
What is Feng Shui?
A: Feng
Shui, literally translated as “wind and water”
is a way to create balance and harmony in your environment.
Practiced in China for thousands of years, Feng Shui is now
being used in the western world – especially by those
who have a holistic approach to life.
Q:
When is the best time to have a Feng Shui Consultation?
A:
Anytime is a good time to practice Feng Shui, but if you answer
“yes” to any of the questions below, it’s
a great time.
- Do
feel stuck or are you in transition in an area of your life
(career, relationship, finances, etc.)?
-
Have you recently moved your home or business?
-
Do you need/desire a fresh start or are making important
changes in your life?
- Would
you like to use your space to support you in areas of your
life including finances, relationships, creativity, career,
etc?
Q:
Is Feng Shui only for those who believe in it or want an Asian
style in their home?
A: Feng
Shui is for everyone. The ancient system helps bring us into
harmony with our space. Whether your style is minimalist,
traditional, modern, shabby-chic, French Provencal, Asian-inspired
or eclectic, the principles are logical, effective and practical
in all types of homes, offices and other environments.
Q:
Are there different types of Feng Shui?
A: Yes.
There are two primary “schools” of Feng Shui –
Form School and Compass School. There are also multiple systems
underneath both. Form School is based on what can be seen
in the space. Compass School or Classical Feng Shui is based
on the magnetic fields of the earth. Many Feng Shui consultants
specialize in one or the other. My preference is to apply
principles from both schools and then use a number of different
systems within them including Black Sect/Black Hat, Flying
Stars, Eight Mansions, etc.
Q:
How do I know which type of Feng Shui to practice?
A: Both
Form School and Compass School have strong merits. I believe
in using whatever is needed for my client to maximize health,
relationships and finances. If you ended up at this web site,
there’s a good chance that an integrative approach may
resonate for you.
Q:
Will I need to spend a lot of money to implement changes in
my home or office?
A: There
are many creative ways to enhance your space using Feng Shui
principles. I pride myself on making suggestions that fit
for you and your budget. I have consulted for many clients
who have spent little or no money purchasing new items, but
have enhanced their home or office dramatically.
